Cool list of 10 types of buildings that are certified passive houses that you might not consider as ‘houses’. Remember the standard is an energy performance and quality standard and can apply to ANY building type. I’m sure there is a Yoga Studio and Spa in the works somewhere. Would love to see NZ step up to a Certified Passive House Airport or Train Station.

New Zealand already has many homes that are Certified Passive Houses, but we’ve also quoted for Passive House certification for many apartment buildings, a couple of office buildings, two community centres, a small hotel and even a church. I hope we will very soon see all 10 of these building types in New Zealand.
