If you haven’t already reviewed the technical draft of our High-Performance Construction Details (HPCD) Handbook, BRANZ has just published two great summaries that pull out the high-performance wall and roof assemblies (elements).
The wall elements from the HPCD Handbook are summarised with the results reproduced in BU660 Residential walls with high thermal performance.
The roof elements from the HPCD Handbook are summarised with the results reproduced in BU661 Residential roofs with high thermal performance.
We’re hoping to release the final version of the HPCD Handbook including all of the Elements and many more Junctions—101 in total—very soon. Given the Building Code Update 2021 proposes increasing the minimum required wall/roof and floor construction values, it is very useful to know what high-performance buildings have already been completed in New Zealand.
